By The Hand Club For Kids Featured on ABC News for Taking Care of 425 Kids During the Teachers’ Strike

By The Hand Club For Kids hosted 425 children in their facilities Friday, April 1, serving breakfast and lunch for a majority of the children who did not have any place to go during the day due to the Chicago Teachers Union boycott.

By The Hand Club, which normally holds after-school activities at centers in Cabrini-Green, Austin, Englewood and Altgeld-Gardens, was open for parents or caregivers to drop their children off at 9 a.m. By The Hand returned them to their homes in school buses at 5 p.m.
