Joining hands in prayer with community members and local churches at four different locations along Madison Street and Halsted Street, By The Hand (BTH) participants contributed to the effort of creating a cross when looked down on from above. One BTH parent enthusiastically proclaimed, “I loved seeing all the churches working together!”

Each location started the morning with a powerful reading of the the Lord’s Prayer. Following this, attendees separated into groups for a time of prayer for their specific communities. During this small-group time, Chicago’s law enforcement, public schools, elected officials and businesses were brought before the Lord in prayer.

Eddie Wilson, the site director for By The Hand’s Englewood location stated, “I am very pleased today with how this all turned out. Even in the rain you can see the enthusiasm our staff and kids have for Englewood.”
