Student-led documentary film project encourages neighborhood exploration, builds cultural sensitivity

July 30, 2024

This summer, our students participated in a first-of-its-kind program to promote cultural awareness while gaining hands-on instruction in documentary filmmaking…all in the diverse neighborhoods of Chicago. Just days before their film premier, CBS Chicago joined students as they toured Little Village, meeting local business owners, visiting community landmarks, sampling traditional foods, and immersing themselves in Chicago’s Hispanic-Latino culture.
