But for Iker, it’s not just about soccer. His favorite part? That it’s fun! He loves being able to run and be physical while making new friendships along the way. He says, “The more people you get around, the more friends you can make.” Iker is learning other important lessons, too. “Being good takes practice. You can have talent. But you also have to work. You have to try hard. That’s what makes you great.” And “great” is definitely what Iker wants to be. He says, “I feel very proud in a game when I can help. When I get to carry my team to a win!”

While Iker hopes to make himself, his coaches and his family proud, he has confidence in his relationship with God. He shares, “I know that God loves me through everything. He always supports me, even when I make a mistake or do the wrong thing.” With a foundation like this, the future is exciting for Iker.
