Lashawn, a seventh-grader at the Altgeld site, is thankful for the leaders at By The Hand Club. He says, “Ms. Anissa encouraged me to get involved with choir.
And Ms. Brittish lifts me up when I am down. She always prays for me.” Lashawn loves learning about God. He explains, “I feel like because I get to come here, I am more in tune with God. I do Bible studies. I pray for thankfulness in the morning. It helps me all day.” As a student ambassador, Lashawn takes his leadership seriously. He says, “I teach my little sisters to be patient when they pray. I remind them that God will give them what they need. Even if it might be different than they think.”
