When M‘Kyla Harris started with By The Hand in the first grade, she has never heard of God’s love for her. M‘Kyla’s love for God began to grow when she was first exposed to chapel services, held every Thursday (which she now claims as her favorite day of the week).
“At first, I didn’t know anything about God. But when I went to chapel and saw how excited everyone was to talk about God, it made me want to learn more.” During her first year with By The Hand, M‘Kyla decided to give her life to Christ.
During chapel, she is constantly learning new things and being transformed by God’s Word. This eagerness carries over into her own church life, as she now loves to go to church services with her family – always the first to ask questions, and even answer them, too! Chapel has been an agent of transformation in M‘Kyla’s life, and she beams with joy when talking about the abundant life she has experienced through it.
M‘Kyla‘s reading skills have also been improving each year that she has been with By The Hand, and with the help of her team leaders, she completed Lexia Reading Core at the end of last school year.
