Second Grade—Moving EverestChildren express a wide array of emotions as they discover and respond to the world around them. Some of our children have difficulty processing those emotions. That’s what we saw with Pierre.

Children express a wide array of emotions as they discover and respond to the world around them. Some of our children have difficulty processing those emotions. That’s what we saw with Pierre.
When Pierre was overwhelmed or frustrated in the classroom, he had difficulty working with other students. He had a tendency to leave the classroom and avoid addressing those stressful situations. Our team leaders knew Pierre could grow and learn a better way! By taking time each day to interact with and care for Pierre, our team leaders built a positive and trusting relationship with him. And now? By The Hand staff have noticed a huge difference! Pierre is better able to verbalize his frustrations and process his emotions in the classroom. And that means he can put more focus on what’s being taught.
It’s so exciting to see children practice new skills! With the support of friends like you, our kids are better equipped for the classroom—and for life. Thank you for investing in children like Pierre!
Our students have the power to impact Chicago’s greatest needs. You have the power to show these young men and women abundant life—mind, body and soul.
