Supporting Our Children and Families

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

We realize that many people around the world are suffering illness and loss due to the increasing spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Our hearts and prayers continue to go out to them.

In a crisis like this we know it’s the vulnerable that suffer the most. As a result, we are increasing our efforts to meet the needs of our children and their families. To learn more about our role and responsibility navigating COVID-19 along with our evolving response plan please click here.

To most effectively support our children and families during this crisis, we will be providing food and home supplies, creating virtual and online reading and learning projects, and conducting daily check ins with our children. We will also do our best to support their basic health and physical needs throughout this crisis. But we cannot do it alone. Will you help us?

Here are a few ways you can help:

•

Sign up to be a Prayer Advocate and pray daily for our children and families.

•

Assemble an Emergency Care Package that our staff will pick up and deliver to our kids and families in greatest need.

•

Write a note of encouragement to a child, family and/or staff member.

•

Give a donation to help support our children and families through this crisis.

•

Stay up to date on our response plan through our website and social media channels.

I WANT TO HELP

As we continue to navigate this unprecedented situation, we will keep you apprised of updates and our plans as they progress. Thank you for helping our children and families in their time of great need.

STORY OF HOPE
Delivering Fresh Food & Hope
During COVID-19
March 18, 2020
This week By The Hand Club For Kids picked up fresh vegetables and fruit from our friends at Forty Acres Fresh Market to pack and deliver to our families who need us more than ever. While this virus is affecting the entire world, it’s the vulnerable that suffer the most. For example, many of our families do not have excess funds on their LINK cards, a savings account or a credit card to stock up on food. And many live in areas considered food deserts, making it more difficult to access food, especially fresh food. For this reason, one of our first responses to our families in this time of need has been and will continue to be the delivery of fresh vegetables and fruit. Supplies like this are helping our children and families stay safe and healthy through this crisis.
With your help we will be able to do much more in the days and weeks ahead to support our children and families through this crisis. This is their greatest hour of need and your greatest time to show your love and concern. Our mission is more important than ever. You make it possible. Thank you!
