By The Hand Club For Kids distributed fresh Christmas trees from The Christmas Ship, a program that delivers Christmas trees to youth volunteer workers and youth focused organizations every Christmas.  By The Hand, one of the recipient organizations, gives these trees to the families whose children participate in the club.  This year, 90 families visited one of our four clubs to receive a live tree.  Volunteers joined in the effort to make the Christmas tree handout a fun event with games, crafts, food, and gifts.  By The Hand volunteers also helped give away tree lights and stands to further support our families.

Reflecting upon this years Christmas tree give away, Donnita Travis said, “We have been doing this for as long as I can remember and nothing brightens the home and lifts the spirits and hopes like a freshly cut, brightly lit pine tree with a few presents underneath it. By The Hand Club and our families look forward to this time of year because of the hope and peace that Christmas signifies.”
